Oh —
if I could but glide
like a bird in flight
I would soar skyward
in sweeping circles
lifted high
on mighty thermals
not earthbound
not prisoner
to this rock and clay
not a captive
of gravity
of memory
of heartache
this day
my spirit
would be light as air
untethered
away
gone
