Sun’s GunnMaster

”No sun outlasts its sunset, but it will rise again and bring the dawn.”

Here quietly on the shore
we await another end of day
looking skyward to the heavens
we anticipate the brilliant fire

GunnMaster does not disappoint
it’s his magical sunset display
our clear signal from on high
that for another night — we retire

we know his Sunset Gunn is loaded
the controls are in his grip
he’s calmly concentrating
scanning with careful eyes

golden sun has made his journey
he’s quite weary from the trip
quicksilver moon will soon
traverse our starry skies

our Gaia rolls on gently
hushed deep in quiet space
GunnMaster has our skyline
locked squarely in his sight

Gaia’s pulling a veil of stars
slowly across our face
but GunnMaster has this task
to complete before it’s night

he’s to set our sky ablaze
before he then falls to sleep
we anticipate fiery coral-orange
periwinkle and crimson red

we love patterns broad and bold
in vivid colors rich and deep
so he aims the SunsetGunn
and blasts it overhead

in a brilliant blinding flash
he sets the skies a’fire
in vivid hues, and lavish shades
the dusk sky ignites and burns

GunnMaster has succeeded
we can happily retire
the Sunrise Gunn’s already loaded
for morning when he returns
