NOTE: To fully grasp the feeling of this poem, I suggest it almost essential you experience, in total, at least one of the fractal videos you will find below.
“Come with me and you’ll be iin a world of pure imagination” – Anthony Newley
Fantastic is this spell I’m under
magic of a splendorous kind
a world of cornucopic wonder
treasure troves of dreams to plunder
in this kingdom of my mind
to magical mystical ports of call
no longer tethered to mere mortal
high above the wonderwall
swept up in miracle protocol
full sail through mystery’s portal
on an amazing fractal odessey
beyond all one can imagine
a truly alternate reality
a splendid spellcast amalgamy
rolling out to fold in deep again
an infinite fractal paradise
that takes an enlightened eye to see
geometric forms flow so precise
near organic — they grow so concise
a creative energy pure and free
here I see a place enchanted
a world my mind can but beget
wonder is by awe supplanted
no limit to the marvels granted
what I observe — I’ll ne’er forget
by fantasy’s elaboration
through stars of wonder I ascend
soar in sweet hallucination
in ships of my imagination
oh, would this dream but never end

~ I invite you through the wonderwall on these fantastical trips. ~
Sounds wonderful, especially “magical mystical ports of call!”
Thank you Jenna… 🙂
Enchanting, Rob – this has a fairytale quality and a delicious escapism!
Thank you Ingrid! I need to revise it three times more and it will be where I want it. Its damned close now!
Rob, you played us tune that made us all happy. I loved every line of every stanza, although “to magical mystical ports of call” is my current favorite.
Tryin’ t’do me bes Ron! 🙂
What a lovely dream! I’ve had some that are magical like this. ????
Fun to have a fractal fantasy. My psychologist says I have a psychedelic mind — but hell Merril, such mind-blowing fun!
Ooops! I’ do’t know how those question marks got there. Maybe I was dreaming. 🙂 🙂
I know Merril. They are to be smiley faces… 🙂
The mind is a wonderful thing. It can go anywhere and be anything you can imagine… A great poem of Wonder/Wander Rob.
Thank you Dwight, very much… 🙂
Fractals are indeed wondrous – as is the very fact of them. And i enjoyed your videos, thank you.
You are welcome Rosemary… 🙂 …makes one wonder what else goes on in the worlds within worlds. We are a world within other immense worlds — universes within universes. And, when our life energy leaves our bodies, where does it go — given energy can neither be created nor destroyed. The whole fear driven, insecurity band aid, of heaven and hell is just so archaic and unenlightened. When our meat puppets wear out, is this life energy recycled, or up-cycled? Fascinating question. The answer we all eventually discover, or likely not — I find no reason that our identities need to continue as we evolve in energy form. Oh well, interesting mind gymnastics.
This absolutely AMAZING, Rob! 😀 Just wowww!!!
Thank you Sanaa. Just a little trip through my strange imagination… 🙂
Great rhythm to this Rob…..dear mr.fantasy, play us a tune…and you did…JIM
Thank you Jim! Something hopefully to make us all happy… 🙂
I’ve never dropped acid …. now I know how it feels. WOW.
And even this falls short Helen — or so I’ve been told… 😉
Long time since I last fractalled on acid but all the memories freshened here. An aural-visual feast.
Just focusing on the wondrous Brendan.
Oh, to be back at the Purple Turtle nightclub where videos like this played in the bars and entrance. Sometimes, it took us a good while to make it to the live stage……..
Hi Kim. My band played at many clubs that sound like the Purple Turtle. Back in the late 60’s they would pulse project psychedelic, mixed-colored-liquid, light shows right onto my band while we played on stage. The first true zooming Mandelbrot fractals I ever saw on a CRT screen was in the late 70’s at a club we played occasionally called Reflections, in Cincinnati, OH. They even tried to do a reflect projection of zooming Mandelbrot’s onto large screens using magnified ground lens — but it was low quality.
a journey, a mystery, a dream, a fantasy…. very mystical! The rhyme and rhythm really add to the build up of wonder.
Glad this resonated for you ! 🙂
As a grad student in the 80s I do remember the first images of the Mandelbrot set coming out… It’s amazing how such simple math could produce such fantastic “symmetry”
It entrances me Bjorn…
Beautiful, Rob.
Thank you Sherry! 🙂
Very psychedelic and fantastical. Loved the videos you shared.
Glad you enjoyed Punam!
