Ride the moon
light the poet’s lamp
explore the secret realm of rhyme
ride the moon
to seek the magic
that glistens there
like stardust
in the folds of time

This is so delicate and lovely, Rob. The last stanza is perfect.
Thank you Merril… 🙂
“Ride the moon” indeed. very light and lyrical. so glad to see you are OK. I’ve been gone for 5 weeks, and worried about you.
I been through quite a time in the past 5 weeks. Echocardiogram, nuclear stress test, angioplasty, and insertion of another stent in my heart. I also officially lost 36.2 lbs as recorded on my cardiologist digital scale. I am starting up cardio rehab again at my hospital, after it closed when COVID hit. Looking forward to it! On both a low carb, and a low sodium diet now, so food tastes like total shit! 🙁 I had a damned good appointment with my cardiologist today. Now, where the hell have you been for 5 weeks brother?
I love this Rob, especially “like stardust in the folds of time”
I am pleased this resonated for you Kim… 🙂
Ride the moon…the stardust….lovely read Rob….perfect length to say it…
Thank you Ain… 🙂
Beautiful moon poem. Love that poet’s lamp.
Thank you Grace… 🙂
I love the images of stardust in the folds of time! Well done Rob.
Thank you Dwight! 🙂
I can use some of that “stardust in the folds of time.”
One can find it Ken, if one looks carefully and mindfully… 🙂
I always enjoy a poem about the moon. Ride the moon, seek the magic…if only we could bring a bit of good magic into this weary world.
As frustrated as I get sometimes with the foolishness of humanity True, when it comes to the natural world — if you look for poetry, you will find it… it is everywhere.
Loved every word of this!
Thank you Carol… 🙂
you light this poet’s lamp, Rob. Thanks. Sorry about your current tribulations. Stay as well as you can and PLEEZE keep writing all this fine stuff.
And: Special thanks for the Simon tune…
I saw him once, ages and ages ago, at a 1:1 concert (sort of): I was walking home in the early morning hours in Baltimore, headed home from a drug-laced party at the home of someone I didn’t even know, and I passed this guy sitting on a park bench by the river, strumming away (actually doing some fine finger-picking and singing softly to himself like he was trying to work out some new lyrics and I stopped to sit on an adjacent bench and watch / listen, when I suddenly realized who it was. He was in the city that weekend for a sold-out concert at the arena associated with the big hotel just across the riverpark. I was dumbfounded. I couldn’t (& wouldn’t) interrupt to fan-gush, but I just smiled at him and he smiled back before we both got up and left 10-15 minutes later, when the newly-risen sun peeked over the cityscape and we knew we’d have to get on with our day. BEST CONCERT EVER!!!
Thank youRon, and I will my friend. 🙂 HOLY SHIT DUDE — how fucking cool! Impromptu 1 on 1… Damn my brother! I have seen PS 3x’s. 1st in 1967, after my sophomore year at University of Dayton, OH. It was in Owings Mills Maryland with Garfunkle. Me on my Triumph Bonneville 650, and a friend from Jersey on a Norton 750 Commando. We took our ladies, and road tripped to the concert. 2nd time was Simon alone in Chicago 1987, it was his Graceland tour, AWESOME! The Last, and my favorite, was 1999 in Portland OR at the Rose Garden! He combined with “The Never Ending Tour” of Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan) — blew this hippie’s mind!! Those two monsters in one evening!! I peed a little… 😉
Such a lovely moon verse, Rob!
Thank you Punam… 🙂
