Memphis Red

For today’s dVerse OLN, I have posted a live, Spoken Word Performance, I did in 1999, of my original poem, “Memphis Red”, written in 1987. In 2001 I created a brief multi-media A/V movie to accompany my live reading. I invite you to relax, then click the white arrow in the red box below, to watch and listen to “Memphis Red”. Please enjoy! 🙂

    1. Thank you Merril, very much, do pleased you enjoyed it. The music was on a live reel to reel recording I captured in 1969 of a blues performance, which I placed into the Garage Band App years ago, but not all my band mates. The art pieces are collected snippets I have gathered over the past 50 years, they didd not all start out digital. Some I converted to files. I’m not even certain anymore where all of them came from. I did the audio/video production on the application called GarageBand. I wrote the original poem back in the late 80s and I made the original recording of the poem, again on GarageBand, in 2000 — then I mixed and added the video collage the next year. I had a youTube channel called EyePoems for a short while. These are the type of my productions that I used to post on there. The creation of one such production, once I had finished the poem, could stretch over a couple days. I loved creating these A/V poem movies. It all just got to be too much work, as my health began seriously failing. I just happen to stumble across this particular piece a while ago, looking through my archives. Thought I’d share it today — no good reason, Jus For Fun. 🙂

  1. You know we are still 16 in our minds. I love your intriguing story. It is so full of passion and desire, that can only end with a little death! Your video is spectacular. The colors just pop! Well done my friend. Never stop dreaming!

  2. I really loved to hear you read this, thank you for the inspiration… I think Youtube is the best platform for you. I look forward to more.

    1. Thank you Bjorn… 🙂 This is 12 years old, new ones are most difficult with my health issues. I originally had crested six (6) of these type productions. I will try to dig up some of those.
