Sweet Honey Kiss

loves-serenade

To you I sing my sweet sweet lover
songs sung soft as silk and satin
sensual as a lingered bare embrace

I promise this sweet world is ours
this perfect moment’s never ending
I’ll lift you high on rapture’s cloud

I’ll kiss you kisses like honeyed cream
that quench your quivering naked lips
as they slowly smolder like kindled ember

tonight we freely dare sweet lust’s embrace
as we roar to blaze in love’s wildest abandon
how I burn to offer you love’s special kiss

come to me love — I’ll take you timeless
enfold you into my soul’s deep desires
my lover’s breath — now make it yours

I enfold soft upon you this special hour
to taste the nectar of your tender flower
to set your every fantasy free
carrying you away to ecstasy

  1. I really enjoyed the Minnie Ripperton, an old favourite I haven’t heard in ages. And I enjoyed your honey kiss, sweet and romantic as ever. The sibilance in the opening lines is so soothing and alluring, and I love how the poem builds up in passion.

    1. Minnie was a true one of a kind… 🙂 At the very end, in this particular live performance, you hear her singing her daughter, Mya Rudolh’s first name over, over, over, and over again — Mya Mya Mya Mya Mya… … …. Minnie recorded six albums with her group, Rotary Connection https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotary_Connection — then a half-dozen solo records before 1979. She passed away from breast cancer at 31.Jul 12, 2014 World lost a unique talent. I have been obsessing over a 26-year-old Norwegian, singer, songwriter, and record producer — Aurora Aksnes, whose professional performance name is quite simply… Aurora! She was born in Stravanger, Norway, in June of ‘96. Her style is Art pop, Nordic folk, synth-pop, and electro pop. I am obsessing because her gentle vocal style, and massive urange is similarly as unique, and as high range as Minnie Ripperton’s was. Aurora has me completely mesmerized at the moment. That is why you’ll find Minnie and Aurora featured at the end of my “Sweet Honey Kiss”. Fascinated by them both! 🙂

  2. This is a lovely combination of sensual and old-fashioned romantic. And I enjoyed the alliteration. Well done!
