Original DDE™ digital surreal art: “That Kiss” by: rob kistner © 10/28/24
That kiss in the moonlight
that starry autumn night
as passion’s fire burned bright
aflame was our urgent need
hot was that stolen moment
emblazoned was our lover’s promise
in that distant smoldering midnight…
…sweet memories of our fiery love
stir my heart tonight

Beautifully done, Rob. We always remember that first kiss in the moonlight!
Yes indeed Dwight. Not counting grade school “spin the bottle” or “7 minutes in heaven” — 61 years ago for my first meaningful kiss my friend, and I remember who, where, and Wow… 😉
So very romantic… love it.
Thank you Björn… 🙂
Exactly!
I went in the very same direction ????
Yes indeed my friend… 😉
Not sure where the question marks came from, I posted a smiling sun..
Not you Ain, it’s my website is so old it doesn’t recognize emojis. I am terrified to update because I have thousands of poems and artwork on here — and I don’t want to lose them.
Thank you Universe … I experienced what you so wonderfully, deliciously share!!!!!
I am pleased Helen… 🙂
Whew! Yes indeed, you did go for the romantic! It is smouldering!
Thank you Lil… 😉
Aah! Sigh! Rob this is lovely, just lovely!
Pat
Thank you Pat, so glad you enjoyed this… 🙂
Rob, I love how you evoke such vivid imagery of passion and nostalgia in this piece—it makes me feel the warmth of those sweet memories radiating through the words!
~David
Thank you David. I was on a positive emotional swing that day. I am very pleased this piece resonated for you.
Very nice, Rob!
Thank you so much Nancy… I appreciate your kind words… 🙂
This could easily put to music, Rob! A real love song yet a lament for what once was.
I have written lyrics many times over the years Carol, so my mind falls easily into that form and cadance.
Your poem made me think of Cat Stevens’ song, “The First Cut is the Deepest” but here, the first kiss is the sweetest. And it is!
Glad you like it Li(sa)… 😉
