if far not near
if there not here
one is not
without the other
so is up to down
and on to off
in to out
as hard to soft
it’s good or bad
happy sad
young or old
if hot not cold
it’s stop to go
either yes or no
as is likewise
fast to slow
dark and light
as in day and night
the quintessential
he and she
it is the one
defines the other
inseparable
as you and me

I love the playful nature of this poem.
I like what you did with this.
If opposites attract, you have a strong marriage (smile).
Fun poem that holds its meaning well.
Clever and melodious…

I like how your word play speaks to the nature of “inseparable”. It is both playful and meaningful.
Wonderful..what a tribute..rolled off the tongue as comfortably as a matcihng pair..Jae
Loved the way it is crafted and the opposites making it a delightful read!! It is like two sides of a coin, can’t have one without the other!!
I love all the opposites and the way you brought them all together.
We have been married 50 years and have been in love for 55 years. I am frightened sometimes to think what life will be without the other…hopeful that will not be for a very long time.

Very nicely done. I like the playful exploration of the connection between opposites, culminating in the union of opposites in love. It emphasizes how each pair of opposites relies on the other for meaning and purpose.
Lovely to know this exists!
awesome word play.
enjoyed your talent.
🙂
I liked that a lot. Very clever!
Opposites are always inseparable. Well done 🙂
Rob, I love reading about love. Being in my second (and last) marriage is all about the time spent together, during which we talk about what we did while we spent time apart! Here’s mine, for WI and Sun Scribs:

I wrote my entry a bit late, it’s at http://cynthiamarstonwritingstuff.blogspot.com/
The interplay of opposites are nicely written and create a lovely poem. Often both sides are at play and are inseparable.
Beautiful as a love poem and an exploration of spirit.
