A Boat

A Boat

~

would that I had a boat
to ferry me my love
across this ocean of time

over this horizon of death

to kiss your lips once more
and tell you the 10,000 things
I said too seldom in my life

    1. So many things I think to say Kate, I know I should say — some get said, some sadly get lost. I have a difficult time with apologies sometimes. It’s my hurt feelings, ego, embarrassment — and apologies are so important, and not said, can lead to scars and regret. Tough being human sometimes.

  1. So beautifully put by a heart that is full of love and regret! It’s hard when death cuts off that ability to say what should have been said. Simply lovely poetry, Rob.
