Melancholy’s grey
the black of loss
fear’s dark ebony
the violet of regret
the purples of pain and anger
sorrowful blues
peaceful greens
golden joy
laughter’s bright amber
love’s ruby red
the scarlet of passion
the white of knowledge
these are the colors
of my life
painted by the brushstrokes of time
blended in the palette
that defines my essence
by these
you know me

You have painted your life beautifully Rob. I can feel the pain and see the joy.
It was my attempt at a kaleidoscopic musing Carrie, inspired by your visual prompt. 😉
You have used the colors well … today we are treated to “three for the price of one ticket.” Cheers.
Thank you Helen… 😉
Great poem, love the spectrum of colours you describe, and also great Cyndi song! 🙂
Thank you Sunra… 🙂
Love what you did with this image, Rob. It’s a full palette, “painted by the brushstrokes of time.”
Thank you lisa… 🙂
The art of life painted in colorful words. So lovely
Thank you Susie… 🙂
Rob, I do have to say that your poetry really does give me a strong sense of you… even when you’re not directly writing about yourself! Your imagery here is delightful and powerful.
