INSCRIPTION: To Mark — Let the poetic sound of moons and stars invade your night thoughts, to give you sweet dreams always, for in your dreams lies the happiness you truly want — hope you enjoy the book, Michelle
Sparked by Michelle’s inscription, Mark reveals his true heart, and replies to Michelle with a poem, vulnerably baring his soul, sharing his sensual dreams of her.
“Dream Lovers” — by: Oleg Zhivetin
I dream I take you under the stars in May
in a Spring night’s breeze in the marram’s sway
on the silvered beach of a white-capped bay
near the mouth of a moonlit waterway
I dream I take you in a tree-filled park
on a matt of fallen aspen bark
to the Summer song of a meadow lark
on a sunny day until it grows dark
I dream I take you by the garden wall
in the dappled shade of a willow tall
on the scattered down of its leafy sprawl
on a crisp, and heady day in Fall
I dream I take you by the oaken mill
‘neath an autumn tree on a grassy hill
I will take you in the early chill
when our Winter comes — I will take you still
Michelle my love I dream of only you
under the moon — under the stars — all year through
here I share these dreams — that they come true
sweeping us away in passion’s sweet taboo

Full of passion. Nice one
Much????love
Thank you Gillena… 🙂
This flyleaf inscription had to be a romantic one, and you and Merril have both done it proud. Great use of rhyme and detailed images, Rob, especially:
‘on the silvered beach of a white-capped bay
near the mouth of a moonlit waterway’
and
‘in the dappled shade of a willow tall
on the scattered down of its leafy sprawl
on a crisp, and heady day in Fall’.
Thank you so much Kim! 🙂 Yes, Merril’ genuinely tdnder piece put a tear in my eye, and a lump in my throat.
How sweetly romantic–and passionate, Rob! True love standing the test of time.
Thank you. When my soul rises above the medicated fog that so frequently enshrouds my mind — I am grateful to still feel the passion Merril. 🙂
what a gorgeous poem to write to Michelle as response to her very romantic inscription: I especially loved these words though there is movement and music in every stanza
“in the marram’s sway
on the silvered beach of a white-capped bay”
Thank you Laura, very much… 🙂 …I felt a tenderness in the inscription, so that is the path I followed.
Rob, this shows your rich fantasy world that I’m sure once upon a time was real. Your passion has lifted your soul in wondrous flight. I can see the golden light twirling in the sun’s warmth.
Thank you Lisa. My fantasy life has sustained me, and often is far more desirable than the real world.
The romantic in you has once again emerged with passion and sensuality. I am sure you broke some hearts somewhere in the past.
I know I broke mine a time or two True… 😉
This is so very romantic, yet I can feel that there has been a great loss between the fly-leaf and the present time.
Thank you Björn. Yes, I get the sense that we may have unrequited love in the mix here, as perhaps evident in both in a closer reading of the inscription and the passionate poetic response.
