Come with me, my spell you’re under
it is a magic of a most splendorous kind
a wilding world of pure cornucopic wonder
here, treasure troves of dreams to plunder
in this kingdom of your expanding mind

come with me to mystical ports of call
we’re no longer tethered to mere mortal
soar high above the mythic wonderwall
now swept up in this miracle protocol
we’re full sail through mystery’s portal

come with me to a fractal paradise
far beyond anything one can imagine
geometric forms flowing so precise
seemingly organic, yet quite concise
they’re rolling out, as they fold back in

come — beyond fantasy’s elaboration
a world your mind alone cannot beget
it’s a wondrously sweet hallucination
it will boggle your fired imagination
what you will see you will never forget
so… come with me — yes, come with me

  1. An alluring invitation, full of promise and enchantment! I especially loved the rhythm and the rhyme that texture the poem with a tonal, even melodious insistence — You can almost hear music in the background! A beautiful feast of sight and sound.

    1. Thank you Dora. 😉 It was a fun one to do. I had bits and pieces of it, but it was your prompt that spurred me to pull it all together into a cohesive piece for final publication. 🙂

  2. Highly original, with a set of complex lexical patterns that fit so well, yet send one onto different thoughts and directions.. surrealism between the lines, yes, but also a tantalising playfulness. Well done Rob.

    1. Thank you very much Ain. I am honored you seemed to like my work. Writing has become a bit more challenging in recent years, but it still keeps me focused and sane. 🙂 I was in a Lewis Carroll frame of mind when I began pulling the scattered fragments together for the final edit for publication. Kinda like standing at the the intersection of Alice avenue and Jabberwock lane, in the county of Leary. “Fractal Fantasy” is made up of segments of different pieces I’ve written over the past few years. Still not certain I am 100% set on this iteration — but it’s damned close.

  3. Your fractal art, music choices, the “come with me” ~ enchanting poetry! It reminded me how I felt viewing Fantasia, as an adult.

  4. I do remember those fractal images from when I was a PhD student… so amazingly trippy with some rather simple math behind it, still so extremely complex.
