Eyes dark and deep as nile nocturne
scorching as nubian sundance
this blackthorn rose
is the sultry jungle goddess
the secreted passion
fired in molten scarlet
forged of earthen bronze
she’s the blazing lust
of writhing music
she is smoke’n flame
black magic woman

Talk about music — this is music genius!
Rob, stunning words and a perfect song. Carlos Santana is one of my favorite artists.
Thank you Linda. The guitar is simply an extension of his soul through his fingers. He got better and more genius the older he got! Carlos is one of a kind.
Hot stuff, Roberto!
TSSS! 😉
This is a sulty and beautiful woman you have painted Rob. Love the music of Santana.
Thank you Grace. The woman pictured is Jourdan Dunn, an internationally famous British super model. Love Carlos!
Stunning imagery!
Thank you Reena… 🙂
Sweet. Love this vibe.
Thank you K… 🙂
Great choice of music for that sultry poem. Did you have the song in mind when writing the poem?
Thank you True. I actually had the album “Mysterious Traveler” by Weather Report in mind. If you read the titles of the tracks on that album, you will see where I extracted many of the lines from my poem. Santana came to mind just prior to my posting the poem. The last three words of this poem originally were… my mysterious traveler.
A very appropriate song for your great poem, Rob. You could have been describing Donna Summers as well!
Thank you Dwight. Coulda been Donna. The gorgeous woman I chose to picture at thd top of this poem is Jourdan Dunn. Jourdan is a British model whose exquisite face has been featured internationally for many years.
Fantastic
Much?love
Thank you Gillena — and Ms. Dunn is certainly most fantastic. 🙂
I haven’t heard the Carlos Santana version for a long time; I usually listen to the original Fleetwood Mac one with Peter Green. There is soe gorgeous iagery in this poem, Rob, especially ‘eyes dark and deep as nile nocturne’ and ‘fired in molten scarlet /forged of earthen bronze’.
Sorry about the typing: some gorgeous imagery!
Thank you Kim… 🙂
Liked them both, but fell extremely to the Santana version, because of the rippin’ percussion, and Carlos magic fingers, and angel choir sustain. I don’t know if uou realized it, but the version I posted with the poem featured both Carlos and Peter trading lead.
Rob! Excellent!
The poem, the pictures, the page layout and colors. And a big Hell YES! to Carlos and, of course, the song choice (even if not your first).
If this was a competition, I’d declare you the winner.
Well thank you very much Bill, certainly appreciated… 🙂
The song is perfect… wonderful music in words
Thank you Björn, glad the magic of Carlos’s fingers resonated… 😉
Love Santana and goes so well with your poem
Thank you AJ… 🙂
