Heartquest

“ “All that spirits desire, spirits attain.”
— Khalil Gibran

Beauty in this world is fleeting
but as long as my warm heart is beating
it’s for love’s bliss I am entreating

you have set my longing heart afire
you burn in my midnight desire
sweet erotic dreams you inspire
my lustful soul is overheating

if I could wrap my arms around you
such intoxicating things we’d do
dreams of passion would be made true
my frail restraint is fast depleting

a temptress in a velvet glove
your touch I’d never tire of
a smoldering heat of forbidden love
these carnal visions keep repeating

I crave your lips I want you now
we must join together now somehow
I’ll taste your wild love — this I vow
from this wanton quest there’s no retreating

  1. “Beautiful women and trees” indeed. I know you’ve got some topical rage in you, don’t bottle it up. People probably tire a bit of my political bent, but I must exorcise the media demons, or I will implode. This piece is erotic and exquisite, a perfect Zejel.

    1. I just need to expel some of the anger that builds ehen I look at this fucked up world — so I am spending some time in the erotic zone. I think I will cruise on over to the scifi sector for a while as well — but I’ll be back to raise hell! 🙂

  2. I envisaged a knight falling madly in love with a damsel in a tower – romance and passion entwined in your lusty Zéjel.

    1. Thank you Ingrid. My anger regarding human stupidity, and my passion for all things romantic, sensual, and creative are what have always fired my life. My body may be slowing down, but my heart and soul continue roaring! When that flame dies, I will extinguish myself — no regrets!

    1. I have since my early teens, been wildly romantic, and imaginatively erotic. It is why I sing, had bands, love music, create art, and write poetry. My soul has always been on fire. At thid stage og my life, my body may be losing some capability, but my mind still burns hot Lisa…!

    1. Life is dead without romance Kerfe. We read and write poetry because as members of the human race, we celebrate mystery, music, beauty, romance, passion, and love — these are what keeps life “alive”.

  3. I’ll taste your wild love — this I vow
from this wanton quest there’s no retreating

It is so much fun to be feeling young, Rob! Perfect write as always. You are great with words!
