T these victimized girls
his ego’s validation
eve
his special prize
he danced her
incessantly
reaching to her again
she trembled
but went to toe
suddenly
laughing into the air
she stabbed his heart
crazed
eyes aflame
she danced
danced
and danced
wildly
unshackled —
free!

Sort of sad and scary yet beautiful thinking of the dance
Just a bit of madness Christine… 😉
There is much truth in your madness Rob. Great poem!
Ghsnk you Mary! 🙂
You do dark quite well … Will never forget the first time I watched Flashdance … dancing literally out of the theatre.
Blew me away when I saw it on it’s release day! Never forget it. Vivid impact on me, much the same way as when I had first seen Blade Runner the year before on it’s opening day. Went by myself to see Flashdance just before lunch, to get away from my employees at my store. They were interior designers who were squabbling over the floor coverage schedule I had just announced in the morning meeting. Didn’t want to deal with them. Stayed for a second showing, they went back to my store and took my design manager to dinner. I was in such a good mood even the petty bullshit of my interior designers couldn’t get me down.
Oh we were very much on the same line of thoughts here Rob
Great minds Bjorn… 😉
That is a wild dance to freedom – hers. But its his last dance. Good one Rob!
Thank you Grace… 🙂
Rob, your poetry rocks me.
