Original digital surreal art: “Mano a Mano” by: rob kistner © 9/18/23
T he broken shutter
swung ungainly askew
in a sad sag
thumping ugly
with an awkward thunkity-thunk
walloping
with a wind-driven wack-bang
and troubling
thud-thud bothersome bumping
but the buzz-buzzing
the fucking buzz-buzzing
that was driving me mad
before that bastard could buzz again…
… Smash!

Tooooo many fun word-bumps and phrases to even mention here! Gosh, this was a fun ride! Thank you.
You are most welcome my friend… 🙂
Been there, felt that. (Not about a buzz, though. Something else I Won’t ever share.)
And huge thanks for the Klergy tune. Never heard them before. Very cool.
Be well.
Perhaps someday you will share brother. Been listening to Klergy music for several years. it has a certsin draw for me. Glad you enjoyed them. Klergy is the vision of Danny Burke. Created in the north woods of Minnesota, LA, and Nashville, Klergy collaborates with a range of incredible voices. The work with Valerie Broussard is quite good. I also thought the tongue-in-cheek nature of the title to this particular Klergy tune played well with my poem here, and the digital art piece I created my friend.
Scary looking pest! Triggering memories of a mosquito in my ear in the middle of a good dream. Hoping the poor guy was successful with his smash.
Oh, I think he most certainly was my friend… 🙂
😀 I’m with you on this on.
Love the image too!
Thank you Kate… 🙂
That sound could drive you crazy… we have a very late craze of mosquitos right now.
Incessantly annoying indeed… 🙂
You turned a mosquito hunt into a horrific nightmare, Rob! I like all the wordplay, onomatopoeia and alliteration.
Everything has a little drama… 🙂
It took me four readings to see the last word! Red against black is hellish difficult to read.
Great alignment of noisy words!
Makes it a surprise Jane… 🙂 … but I heard you my friend, so I reverted to a white font for the word Smash!
Hear, hear! I second Jane’s comment!

Thank you David, very much sir… 🙂
The wordplay you used is such fun! Not so much fun for that buzzing little guy, though… 😉 Great take on the prompt.
Thank you Miriam… 🙂
Wonderful word play and I can’t stop looking at the picture!
“but the buzz-buzzing
the fucking buzz-buzzing”
My favorite part.;)
Thank you very much Mel, and I am pleased you like my crazy pic… 🙂
Below are a couple images I created for this poem, but didn’t use.
Haha, you got him then hopefully before he got you. What cool pictures.
