Starting back to our outpost
as moon’s setting
on this strange planet
eerie mist descends
shadows shifting
moonfall’s coming
too quickly
idiot
waited too long
soon
total darkness
oxygen depleting
I’m lost
in trouble
I’ll not make it back
activating rescue beacon
I pray

Oh no! I hope he’s rescued in time!
We watched a series on Apple+ about astronauts on the moon.
This is about our rocket man, Artheo. Yes Merril, our intrepid space traveler Artheo, finds himself potentially stranded on Planet Droon, in the Toluras sextus planet region — made up of Droon, Telma, Gemin, Toluras, Gaia, and Topiarus. He needs to reach the shuttle back to the mother ship Dextorium, or he may suffer a fate similar to what happened to the ill-fated crew on the Thadius, the ship on which Artheo’s wife Sephias lost her life. The Dextorium, though it had lost contact with the Sextus planet group for a priod, it is now in contact again, and still a quite safe and viable ship. Yikes. That’s why I prefer hermitage…
Me too Ron my brother! The safety of home, that my moto my friend… 🙂
The situation is bleak! A vivid, suspenseful scene in a much bigger story. I could feel the fear building line by line.

A great metaphor for life, Rob. I am glad you are hanging in there and keeping up with us here at d’Verse. One day at a time my friend!
Thank you Dwight… 🙂 my concerns, thoughts, and prayers are with my wife Kathy these days. She goes for here first cancer surgery tomorrow, March 22nd.
Reminds me of David Bowie’s Major Tom.
Yep, that’s a shuttle you don’t want to miss.
It will be the last shuttle to leave Planet Droon’s violet skies, so our rocketman had better find his way back to his shuttle Donna. To read more about Droon, and other planet’s that our intrepid space traveler has visited — click >> HERE
Hope the rescue beacon helps in the strange planet. A good but eerie moonfall.
I am confident it will help Grace…:)
“…activating rescue beacon.”
nice ending, “I pray.”
Thank you Tzvi… 🙂
loved the line about eerie mists descending. loved this quadrille.
Thank you Rog… 🙂
I like where you went with this one. Very inventive!
Thank you Jane… 🙂
I would have been a terrible astronaut, this type of situations is as bad or worse than being buried alive
Not for everyone Björn. Not sure I would actually have the courage – but it is intoxicating to my imagination.
A tricky way to use “shift” …. I enjoyed your quadrille, Rob. Wishing Kathy a good tomorrow.
Thank you Helen, very much my friend… 😐
Time is of the essence in space travel!
Yes indeed Dale… 🙂
