I’ve long ago set my mind free
and sanity’s so overrated
it distorts my reality
so who’s to say that I can’t fly
and whose right is it to question why
I wear my trousers inside out
it keeps the pockets dry
I see you smirking at my hat
it’s aluminum foil — imagine that
it helps with my cell phone reception
and fascinates my cat
yes I do lose track of time
days and weeks — is that a crime
life is all just one’s perspective
and I’m always changing mine

I absolutely love every line of this Rob! It is perfection in celebrating the non perfection or what is different. I especially love the second and third stanza. Yes it is all in one’s perspective!
Thank you Carrie, I am so pleased this put a smile in your heart… 🙂
Oh, yes. Own your own crazy and flaunt it 🙂 I love this. It’s what makes life interesting!
I love this image Shay posted for this prompt! The Escher-like perspective thing sent me through the looking glass — this is what I found in contrary-land. It was great fun Margaret.
Rob, you’re stylin’ in your tin foil hat! That cracked me up. Ah well, as the candy ad used to say, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t!
And Shay, as Alice said the the Hatter: “Yes, you’re mad, bonkers, off the top of your head! But, I’ll tell you a secret — all the best people are.” 🙂
Changing perspectives is a joy of life. Love this, Rob!
Right up there with changing your underwear Sara… 😉
Love this..You being you is so refreshing…When we try to fit in with others we fall out of sync with ourselves. Keep wearing your tinfoil hat!
Thank you Susie, I shall. You have nailed it! That was the gust of this piece. To lose one’s self in trying to conform is a danger we all face.
