lighting chops
flamin’ righteous
primo riffin’
smokin’ sacred
glorified ‘n sanctified
fused bruised and overused
the big axe jumped

scene was pure
to the fringe

brass ‘and n balls to the bell-tone edge
soul elation

Really enjoyed “Jazzin in a Parallel Universe.” You really capture the lingo, rhyhm, and musical beat within the parameters of the poem. Love your moments of alliteration as well. Great write for all of us smokin’ tokin’ folks. 😉
~Mark
“Jazz in a Parallel Universe” has such great rhythm. I had to read it a second time out loud. It was even better. Nice job.
For jazz that was rock ‘n’ roll – loved it.
I was listening to Pharaoh Sanders Message From Home as I put mine together.
Haiku describes picture spot on!
Not counting any more – no need…
Wow! You nailed it! Both poems do the job perfectly.
Now, see, this is real poetry from that crazy prompt. Nice work!
Quite a rap voice you have. I could definitely hear this one.
Toe-tappin’ stuff, Rob!
Jazz in a Parallel Universe is straight up jake and fully nifty, my man!
Nice job!
Love all the wordplay in the first poem.
Wonderful beat – I would also love to hear you read it. Do you know how easy it is to make a recording and post as an mpeg file? Is there a rapper’s voice here? There sure is poetry here.
Your jazzy poem did the prompt such grand justice! Love it!!
I can so hear this sung by a rapper like JZ. I think you got the lick down on this man!
Oh yeah baby! If I could close my eyes and read this, I could hear Miles or Monk playing behind it. With Trane and Rollins trading 4’s on top.
Tha’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!
