Y our love has me floating
on clouds of enchantment
as higher and higher
my feet leave the ground
my spirit is weightless
my heart is in flight
I am light as a feather
my dreams are unbound
this feeling is magic
like spinning in space
love beats in my heart
such a beautiful sound
I am covered in stardust
I’m waltzing on moonbeams
your kiss has un-earthed me
I’ll never come down

The best natural high one can have! Well done Rob
Thank you Dwight… 🙂
Your waltz definitely needs to be set to music, Rob. You nailed this puppy.
Thank you Lisa… 🙂 I had to go back and start over. My first effort was humor, so I let my brain rest, then did this second poem. Glad I did, and glad you liked it!
Lucky, lucky lady …. a most delightful waltz!!!
Thank you Helen! 🙂
This waltz of romance, the last verse is stellar.
Thank you True… 🙂
I love these lines, Rob:
‘I am covered in stardust
I’m waltzing on moonbeams
your kiss has un-earthed me
I’ll never come down’.
Thank you Kim! 🙂 that verse felt very freeing as I wrote it. Could stand alone.
You trip the light fantastic here Rob, so sweet and so dizzyingly, dancingly good!
Thank you Ingrid, very much. The fist interpretation I did of the prompt was more slanted at ribald humor, because I was struggling to find any poetic purchase that moved me. Wasn’t happy, so I started over completely. I am satisfied where I ended though.
Lovely Rob.
I love the word unearthed – and the twist here!
Thank you very much Ren. Thought it was an interesting flip in meaning, that also fit.
A lovely poem, Rob! I particularly enjoyed the last stanza <3
Thank you!
Yup. Tasty work indeed Mr. K.
Dance on.
Thank you Ron…!
This was a nice poem. It definitely had a waltz feel to it, and I like the idea of waltzing on moonbeams. Very pretty.
🙂
“covered in stardust, waltzing on moonbeams” words fitting for sweeping across the floor in one two three time!
I have not waltzed since a grade school dance class. Stumbled through at best… 🙂
Romantic, beautiful words! Confirms my belief in love!
Thank you Mary… 🙂
I love the rhythm of your waltz… perfect to waltz out in space.
