burns above a fiery mouth
that takes you in devouring
bares your soul, then spits you out
fiercely knowing — worldly wise
sleek as steel — tall and strong
swift and cunning — motor running
she might let you in, but not for long
her soul is free — she’ll not be caged
no mortal man will keep her tied
her spirit a prrr-fect beast enraged
she’s crushed all those who’ve ever tried
poor fool who craves this comely goddess
is hopelessly addicted
there’s only one word for this life-force
that word, my friend, is — wicked!

Oh, wicked indeed. As you might have guessed, I love this naughty bit of saucy poetry.
Thank you Helen, I know that you do… 😉 …I do as well my friend — love, sensual, and nature… which I also find very sensually physical. It’s all natural to my writer’s spirit!
Wicked is underrated, but you’ve given it its due here! I also love how you cleaned up the image so the cat can be seen better. How did you do that?
I especially liked “sleek as steel”.
Thank you Shay… 🙂 …I have 25 years experience with Photoshop & Illustrator. I do final visual edits on every picture I put on my I&V site. If I am not satisfied with the final image, it doesn’t go on my site. It took a number of filter manipulation to finally get kitty yo actually show up. Thank you for noticing my friend!
You set the bar high, as usual, Rob. Beautiful write. I’ll add my usual bit of fluff. By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (I was 87 on the 13th)
Thank you Beve — Aquarians rule! 🙂 Hope I can hang in there as long my friend, but my Pacemaker battery only guarantees me 5 more years.
She certainly sounds dangerous–in that way the very independent can be. Strong write!
Thank you Chrissa!
Nice one Rob
much love…
Thanks Gillena… 🙂
Too hot to handle!
Thank you qbit!
It took me 20 minutes to read this, because I kept scrolling back to the H.O.T. photo. This poem, my friend is, indeed, prrrfectly wicked. Cheers.
Oh and Happy Belated Birthday!
Thank you and thank you Ron… 🙂
Hot and cold all rolled into one. This is spectacular wicked Rob. I knew you would have something wonderful for this image.
Thank you Carrie! 🙂
“ice-hot emerald green” … what a gorgeous color
I love green, and emeralds! 🙂
You nailed the prompt. Reminds me of that Hall & Oates song, “Maneater.”
Thank you Lisa… 🙂
Loved this wicked writing. You are so talented.
Ghank you Myrna… 🙂
Great poem My favourite lines are “bares your soul, then spits you out” and “her spirit a prrr-fect beast enraged” and the smoothly flowing descriptions “sleek as steel” etc
Thank you Marja… ! 🙂
Ah, beware sirens in black. Good one, Rob!
Thank you Sara… 🙂
