providing unadulterated joy
mindbending excitement
otherworldly escape
fantastical imaginings
firing our passions
igniting our emotions

Ah the wit, I didn’t see that coming.
Gotcha Paul… 🙂
Ah yes! This past weekend, we were listening to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on vinyl. There’s nothing like it!
As I commented to Frank, there are newer musicians who are learning again to master their instruments, and creating authentic music. This is partially why the LP is making a come back. It is so amazing, with a properly mixed, unsynthesized album on the turntable, to close your eyes and “see” the sound stage of the real musicians, laid out before you, playing with ability.it is a very special magic that was disappearing.
Good point about the LP. I thought it had gone extinct as well with the arrival of CDs, but now even CDs seem to be on the edge of extinction.
The younger generations lost the understanding and appreciation for fidelity in their music reproduction, because so much of the modern music is compressed, digitized, electronically tuned – it is artificial music, so who would care about fidelity. But there is a wave of musicians that are actually learning to play their instruments, and creating authentic music. This is partially why the LP is making a come back. It is amazing to clos your eyes and “see” the sound stage of the musicians laid out before you, it is a very special magic that was didappearing.
It’s amazing isn’t it? But I bet 8-tracks aren’t returning.
Never Kerfe. From day one, they were the worst music storage format ever conceived — low fidelity, mis-tracking, cross-talk, noisy and failed mechanisms. Horible!
May it live a long rejuvenated life!
Yes lisa, may it ever. And may I find the patience and the lifetime required to write my Brin world story.the patience will bring the focus, and the focus will bring the creative tempo — and thst will give birth to the BRIN WORLD!
I find that fascinating… though I must admit I’m lost in the word of streaming music.
Streaming music is thin sounding, has no depth or soul. It’s like canned soup, or pre-packaged deli meat, or frozen doughnuts, or rehydrated potatoes — sorta right but so very wrong.. The sound of vinyl is warm and deep. And the physical packaging of an LP is so beautiful, exciting, and full of photo and factual information — the pride of ownership is a priceless essence you cannot enjoy with streaming.
nice. next, 8-tracks~
Never… 🙂
