A pair of Tankas in response to Linda Lee Lyberg’s “water” prompt at dVerse.
~
memories of you
ripples on a mirrored lake
rise and drift gently
into the golden sunlight
carrying me on their crest
~
clear blue summer sky
deep azure crystalline lake
cool breeze on my face
fresh scent of water lilies
ripples gently lap the boat

So lovely Rob! And fantastic artwork to support your marvelous words!
Thank you Linda, very much! Yes, isn’t this painters work wonderful… 🙂
This is a gentle take and drift on the prompt Rob. Thanks for offering 2 tankas.
You are welcome Grace, I am pleased you like them! 🙂
Such gentle reflections on golden memories, Rob.
I’m pleased they touched you Jade… 🙂
I capped my long poem with a tanka too; great minds. I never became a fisherman, but I went fishing with my grandfather hundreds of times; it was the same with hunting.
Great minds indeed my friend! 🙂
I like how the words “golden sunshine” and “crest” form a more beautiful picture in my mind than either set would have alone.
I am pleased this resonated for you Avonlea!
I like the calmness of those ripples.
Glad you like them Frank, they are meant to instill peasce…
I like the first one especially.
Thank you Kerfe!
beautiful imagery of floating on memories and senses
Glad you likd this Nora!
I love the interior journey of the first tanka, and then the precise being here now of the second. Combining the two gives them both such power and resonance, sharing the ripples each create and integrating them into something greater and filled with potentials. Lovely!
Thank you Victoria, I am glad you liked these – and very pleased that the interplay of the two resonated for you… 🙂
very soothing Rob, like them!
Thank you Kate!
