version 1
I taste you like a peach
sweet juice trickles to my chin
I bite you like an Apple
your crisp laughter fills my ears
I devour you like a strawberry
tart and succulent on my tongue
I drink you like thick nectar
you flow rich into my soul
I desire you completely
longing to be fulfilled
I consume you wholly
flushed with wanton pleasure
____
version 2
my mouth on you
soft
like a peach
you glisten
trickle from my lips
I bite you
sweet
like an apple
your hushed breath
staccato crisp
you taste
tart as a strawberry
succulent
as love’s nectar
a delicious
wanton pleasure

That’s the sexiest poem I’ve read in a long time.
The picture’ up there, too.
ViV
I got swept up Viv… blame it on Tess at Willow Manor, and her photo at Magpie Tales of that tart, sweet, juicy apple — with the bite out of it… and then Jill, over at Big Tent Poetry, suggested to us that we, in the spirit of Susan Wooldridge, collect words from our daily life this week… and they are just beginning to pick the fruit in the orchards of Hood River, Oregon (where we visited this week)… and all the fruit barns and stands along the drive were brimming over with their fresh and succulent… and my wife Kathy and I spent a romantic night in a bed & breakfast out there in the Columbia Gorge (strawberries & cream at sunrise)… and well, this poem just happened…

This stuff turns women into puddles. How come guys who write this stuff never crossed my path when I was young?
Gloria
There may be a lot more of us guys with a romantic side than is realized, its just that we are likely not all writers/poets — and this elevated sentiment is difficult to express face to face, so we just grunt, and it;s sadly left unsaid…

Concise, crisp, beautiful – from the title to the last word. Delicious words!
Thank you Mr. Walker, your kind words are appreciated…

This line is my favorite, “your hushed breath
staccato crisp”. It is full of visual interest and mentally pulls me deep into contemplation.
