“The leaf of the gingko tree is found in fossils dating back 270 million years. Native to China, the tree is said to possess biological properties effective in the treatment of memory disorders, such as dementia.”

uh-huh, uh-huh…three poems for one prompt. I love it when you go bat-shit creative. Nice data on the Gingko.
When I feel the need for efficiency in the economy of time, I turn to haiku — or the occasional tanka. These three pieces of art spoke to me in the purity and brevity of haiku.
Peacefully Stirred! Nice!
Rekindling the memories that time steals Deight.
Makes me wonder how much they knew then…..knowledge lost over millions of years.
I like the added touch of yellow in the text. Visually pleasing.
So much lost in the current of time Mish. I am certain a significant amount of it was golden.
what a pretty picture! and yes, the ginkgo is a holy tree in many ways. One of my 3 out back dropped all of it’s leaves in the drought here. I walked back with a 2.5 gal jug and watered all 3. last week walked back and the stressed one has a tiny new leaf near the ground. it’s a hearty tree and sets a good example for keeping hope alive.
Quite magical Lisa! Sorry about the wounded tree, but wonderful that it shows a stir of life… 🙂
The golden gingko leaf is very pretty, but I think most autumn leaves stir memories – it’s a memorable time of year!
Hi Kim. The stir of memory I am referring to in the haiku is referenced in the brief prologue above the picture.
Thank you for the info on the gingko.
Reading your first line–stirs memories!
(I agree about the golden touches in your post.)
Glad this brief bit of history resonated for you Merril — and thank you!
I love that you were steered toward haiku. In many of my paintings I desire to capture the essence of something. Thank you!
I love your pieces that feel zen-like Bev. If I had money I would own the three that inspired my 3 haiku.
The ancient Ginko knows its value.
An amazing tree Björn , reaching way back into the ancient time. Fascinating!
This is tranquil and thought-provoking.
I am pleased this resonated for you.
I enjoy how your haiku distills the nature of the ginko…perfectly expressed.
Thank you Victoria! Very gracious of you to say… 🙂
nice haiku, learnt something … missed this pic, it’s peaceful like your words
Thank you Kate. I found that pic online on Beverly’s site.
Lovely!
Thank you Sascha! 🙂
I knew gingko was good for memory but had forgotten.
The gingko tree has been with us at least 270 million years Deanna. What memories it could share…
Beautiful 🙂
Thank you Pratibha! 🙂
