Although neither the world, nor the games, are quite as noble as perhaps they might be, I find the fact that they both still exist — an encouraging sign.
Hmm. The games yes, the current ridiculous argument over funding and constructing the venues in London we can well do without!

I’m glad you appreciated my little statement here. I agree, as long as countries still embrace the trappings of civility, there is the promise and hope of genuine civility — maybe even an outbreak of profound humanity.
