“Heartache” by: Jaime Best
of the broken soul
so deep
it stirs the tongue
of the brooding poet
loosing a torrent of sorrow
so rich with longing
the hearts of all who read
will ache
for their one true love
lost forever
to fate

Hi! I’m Edgrrr, rob’s shih tzu.
A true love lost forever is sad and one may never get over the grief.
Loss is fire that tempers the heart Grace. I just made that up…
No one’s ache is the same. Each one is sacred. The release through writing can offer some healing…and for the reader, can touch our hearts. For some, it resonates with their own unique pain and loss. A beautiful rendering, Rob. Thanks for sharing.
And so many types of ways to lose a loved one Mish. Death, divorce, anger, apathy, dimensia… all are painful!
Exqusite!!!
Happy Monday, Rob.
much love…
Thank you Gillena! 🙂
Beautiful poem of loss Rob.
Thank you Toni!
Sigh….you said it!
And so it goes Vibian… ;-(
<3 The keening resonates in others with recognition. There are places words cannot go but the soul hears.
And the resonance is all consuming Jade.
All aces, brother. A rich utilization of 44 choice words. Let’s hear it for the brooding poets of this planet. Many of our parents and grandparents, spouses and some children are dead. The red lipstick stain of death never fades. Alas, a lost love, a broken heart, can be healed by scar tissue.
Thank you Glenn! Profound loss is welted scar tempered in pain.
Ah, so heartbreaking. Beautifully written.
Thank you Arcadia!
Wow – I absolutely love this one, my kind of poetry. I can feel the ached, truly I can. I read it three times. lol..
Thank you True…! 🙂
This is a beautiful write. One’s grief sometimes can only touch another through through their poems. And still there will be those that never understand.
Thank you very much Mary!
A sorrowful quadrille, Rob, that is deeply touching. It resonates even more with me today because we lost my father-in-law to cancer in the early hours of this morning.
I am so very sorry Kim. I hope you and your family will find your way to peace beyond the sadness.
…so rich with longing! Well done! I feel you sorrow!
Thank you Deight glad it youched you!
Rob, this is poignant and heartbreaking.
Glad this resonated for you Linda! 🙂
It stirs the tongue of the brooding poet. I love this line.
Thank you Astrid!
I feel this, so close to the heart, thanks Rob.
You are welcome Paul, I am glad it touched you.
Ah the richness of words in the hands of a poet (professional or home grown)….and sometimes in the hands of a child. The words that reach out and draw us in….that evoke feeling.
So well written here.
Thank you Lillian!
I think we are never prepared for the losses that life hands us.
They make us better appreciate what we have Björn, in the time we have it.
A poem from the heart, Rob. The ache is definitely “rich with longing” (for what was, what might have been). Beautifully written.
Thank you Merril, very much!
Love this, Rob! Some loves never end.
Thank you Sara! The pain of loss, of any kind, can linger indefinitely.
“a darkness
of the broken soul
so deep
it stirs the tongue
of the brooding poet.”
Great lines.
So tragic and true, the loss of a love.
Thank you Ali. I am pleased this resonated for you…!
