Original digital realistic art entitled “The Cycle” by: rob kistner © 7/24/23
Evaporating
misting skyward
engorging the clouds
raining
penetrating thirsty earth
or joining a river
a lake
perhaps the ocean
persistent
seeking its natural way
breaking any futile bounds
returning always
to repeat its origin cycle
this is ever the will
and way of water

A wonderful poem and stunning art piece. You did a really great job. I did not know you were a digital artist!
Thank you Dwight. Yes, I cannot draw worth a shit, but I have been able to design most of my life. I began doing CAD design back in the 80’s,, and in the 90’s, as Photoshop (first released the day after my 43rd birthday) expanded its capabilities, with tools and plug-ins that became available for that app, I learned more and more how to expand from design into abstract and surreal art. As the digital support parameters expand over the years, so have my capabilities with digital art. I have had examples of my digital design and art on my site for a number of years. Just scroll down the left channel of my Image and Verse site and you can explore my design and my art work over the years. I absolutely love creating it. At this point in time, and with my increasing physical challenges, poetry and digital art are the only two creative arenas left for me. Owing to the advancing arthritis in my hands, I am no longer able physically to do my mixed media work — such as my Serenity Totems. In the past two years I have improved my understanding of, and my ability to write chain command and prompt codes to digitally extrapolate my core art, which has elevated my digital work considerably. Also, as I’ve further grasped the final enhancement power of the tools within, and available for Photoshop, my joy of visual creation has soared. “Image” has always been the first word in the title of my website.
I like this take on the prompt describing the cycle of nature. Nicely done poem.
Thank you Arcadia… 🙂
The (dao) way of water, indeed! I love that Joni-Willie cover of Cool Water. I have that album and every song on it rocks with Joni and her special guests.
Thank you Lisa. Brilliant album by miss Joni! 🙂
Water rules. Rule #1: Water rules. Bounding attempts are pointless.
Strongly done, Brother. Thanks.
Thank you very much Ron. You are most astute my friend. Two things one cannot do, you cannot prevent water from seeking it’s own level, and you cannot herd cats. 🙂
I enjoyed your cycle quadrille, the music and artwork, very much, Rob. Humans must respect the ‘will and way of water’.
Thank you Kim. Water, to the human “body”, personal or communal, is the most important element on earth.
This is your first digital art that I saw. Beautiful art and a fantastic poem!
I have used digital art for years with my poetry. If you Peru’s down the left channel of my website, you will see much of my art that I create, digital art, my collage art my mixed media, Serenity Totems – “instruments of peace” designs, and many other creatupivebthjgs.things furniture or design mixr media pieces that are: serenity totems, so creatngbartnisbbtnnee,it’s not new.
This is so very true, Rob. Beautifully written!!
