Transcend
this week at sfmoma
fell captive
to the genius of mehretu
rolled close in my chair
soul-toppled into stadia
carried off by the brilliance
made the journey
took the trip
my soul expanded a bit
after
there was salad
on a table
graced by orchids
julie on my mind

Lovely…you transported me there…and lunch too…
took the journey, made the trip, my soul expanded a bit…
that all sounds well worth it sir…
now i’m wondering who Julie is??
fruit essence facial mask
loved the transition to such a completely unexpected ending.
Nice job of circumnavigation and poetics,
for art, as you know, is a journey beyond
the words, a muse for the words, a stimulus
for the other creative acts; a lovely way’
to interrupt the veggie prompt.
Rob, your site, a table graced with orchids. I like this poem.
Like how your mind worked for this Mag…:)
What a creative and delightful read! Thank you 🙂
Definitely an original.
And I have a feeling Julie is, too.
=)
hmm… very nice… I especially like the ending.
You have captured that moment of ecstasy where we become one with the object of art. Then you bring it back to earth gently, docking us easily in your world.
