Original DDE™ surrealistic art: “Mysterious Lady” by: rob kistner © 1/11/24
Mysterious lady in blackened silk
your essesnce unearthed in Corsica
we have watched billowing pearl clouds
sing to me my sweet sweet lover
a whispered zephyr tosses my hair
a stolen kiss in the night
I can still feel it — all of it
tonight memories unfold
hmmm… excuse me please
this american life is flawed
nightfall now — the darkness descends

Thank you Carol… 🙂 …this one was written by fate… 😉
You really came from a wonderful place to another place of darkness of mind… let us hope there will be some light again.
I was just riding the horse in the direction it was going Björn. Those were the first lines of the first poems of each month in 2023. Now I did switch them around a bit to come up with a interesting poem — but that’s what I writ, and that’s what you get my friend… 🙂
Nicely done, Rob!
Thank you so much Kim, your kind words are pleasantly recmeived… 🙂
This is beautifully done, Rob! I especially love this part; “a whispered zephyr tosses my hair/a stolen kiss in the night/I can still feel it — all of it/tonight memories unfold.” 😀
I myself was startled by that verse Sanaa. it pulled together remarkably well. Thank you for noticing.:)
this rounds out so well Rob, from mystery to history and romance underscored
This exercise was fun Laura and a little surprising at times. 🙂
It’s hard to leave the world behind, but your romantic impulses provide a temporary respite.
Glad I could offer even just a little oasis Kerfe… 🙂
Ahh, really good. I love these poems. Fun to read yours.
Thank you Jan this was fun… 🙂
Good one, Rob, with a message in the closing lines I really resonate with. Happy new year, kiddo!
Curious where these things fall together. 🙂
The poem has a very present narrative, I like that, seeing its assembled from already written lines.
Thank you Oloriel… 🙂
the flow is THERE! but I wish it had a happy ending.
Kind of like life, Kim — sometimes its up, sometimes is down. 🙂
A wonderful combination of lines, Rob. They work very well together. Love your artwork as well.
Thank you Dwight, appreciate the kind words my friend… 🙂
Wow! This worked out perfectly for a sultry love poem! Hmmmm……what does this say about you? You’re a romatic at heart? 🙂
Thank you Lil… 🙂
Hi Rob! Well I could swear I already commented on this fabulous “found” poem. But I don’t see it here. Suffice it to say, I think the poem flows so well….and all these first lines are tell tales of the fact that you must be a romantic at heart! 🙂
Thank you Lillian… 🙂
The title is perfect! Love the combo of lines .. ending with my favorite three.
Thank you Helen… 🙂
The comment you left for me? Priceless. Keep on keeping on is what we do.
😉
Cleverly conducted Rob it flows so well ????
Thank you Ange… 🙂
Those first lines worked so well together!
Strange seredipity… 🙂
such a beautiful set of lines you wove together here Rob.. especially love that second stanza
Thank you Vidya. Yes, that second verse was a fortunate alignment of fate… 🙂
It does feel disturbingly flawed.
I like “a whispered zephyr tosses my hair”
Thank you Yvonne… 🙂
Rob,
Your imagery of billowing pearl clouds and a whispered zephyr adds a touch of mystique. The transition from a stolen kiss to the acknowledgment of life’s flaws is both poignant and thought-provoking. Well-crafted and evocative!
~David
Life reveals itself in strange ways David — I sm pleased this worked for you my friend… 🙂
Your poetry rings true from line to line. It starts seductive from your romantic heart and then it twists into a harsh reality. sigh
Happy New Year my Friend!
Thank you, and happy new year to you True… 🙂
Rob this is wonderful, fits together so smoothly, and holds together in your inimitable way.
Thank you Paul… 🙂
