Here
in this earthen abode
the voices of our elders
rose with the night fire
a blaze
of enlightenment
warmed us
with the knowledge
of the ancestors
but the sacred fire
its embers
now near ashen
who will stir to flame
this smoldering wisdom

Such a profound question….especially at a time when wisdom is much needed….
We have sadly lost sight of the wisdom of the ages Irma.
Did you take the picture, Rob? I like it very much.
Lost wisdom, lost time. We are too busy now, rushing towards oblivion, to stop and consider the world. This is so evocative.
Picture is from Cedar Messa Utah. I have taken pictures there, but not these.
I don’t know who will do it, but I sure hope somebody can!
I am doing it, you are doing it, Brendan is doing it — many are doing it. We all are writing poems, songs, hymns and prose — to and for the earth, or more accurately, human existence on earth. We won’t kill earth, because eventually nature will puke us off the earth if we get too damned abusive. It just needs to reach a critical mass of individuals to save the human species.
Loved the mysticism. Well done, Rob.

Thank you Dora… 🙂
That blaze of enlightenment will surely return to us once again. Powerful write, Rob 🙂
I pray it does Sanaa, because it looks so bleak when you look to the current horizon!
